FAQs

1. At what point do you need a professional portrait photographer?

  1. You need a professional portrait photographer when you are celebrating a milestone such as graduation, engagement, marriage, pregnancy, or a new addition to the family, a professional portrait photographer can help you capture those special moments with someone you love in a way that you can cherish for years to come.

2. What do I wear for my photo shoot?

As we plan for your session, we will brainstorm together what looks good and what you feel good in. I have lots of ideas on how to choose your outfits. When you feel good, you'll look good in your photos!

3. How long will our session take?

The duration of a photo session can vary depending on a few factors, such as the type of photography you're having done, the location, and how many outfits you choose.

Typically, a standard photo session for an individual or couple with hair and makeup can last anywhere from 1 hour to 4 hours. For a family or group photo session, it may take longer, depending on the size of the group.

4. How many photos will I get?

You buy only the images you love.

5. Do you instruct for posing?

Yes, I will instruct you on the most faltering poses for you, starting with your head, shoulders, hands, and feet.

6. What’s the image editing process? How much do you alter the pictures?

Every image you receive is individually edited for color, contrast, exposure and style.

I get rid of stray hairs and blemishes. I smooth out your skin, giving it an even tone. I then do color grading. If you want me to retouch more, or not at all, we can discuss this at our consultation.

7. What if I just want digital copies?

You get digitals with every image you purchase. The digitals will be sent to you via email. With the package of 20 images, you will get color and black and white digitals.

8. Can I keep the images from my session private?

All clients sign an optional model release before the session. If you would prefer to keep your images private, you may indicate your request at that time. For clients who choose to decline the model release, I absolutely respect your decision and will keep your images under lock and key.

9. Do I get the copyright/ownership of my photos?

When a picture is taken by a photographer (or you with your iPhone) that image belongs to the person who took the image. Just because you paid the photographer to take the images, does not mean you have any ownership or copyright claim to those pictures. This is why contracts are super important so you know who maintains the copyright to the photos.

10. Can I print the images on my own?

Unfortunately no. This is to guarantee the quality of the prints delivered (professional printing lab products are significantly better than CVS or Walgreens prints). I work with companies that produce heirloom quality products that will last for generations.

11. Can I post the images on my social media?

Yes, you may share your images on social media. Please always tag me or caption the images with “Photos taken by Bridget Cline Photography.” Please remember images can not be altered in any manner.

12. What’s your cancellation/rescheduling policy?

The $750 session fee is paid at the time we book your date, $250 of this is nonrefundable. Cancellations made less than 2 weeks from our booked session will be required to pay an additional $250 to rebook. If you cancel, more than 2 weeks out, we will rebook without additional cost. Putting a photoshoot together costs time and effort. If I book you on my calendar, that means I'm not doing other business on that day. In addition, time is spent getting the studio ready just for your photoshoot. My hair and makeup artist is also blocking out her time. We are both not accepting work on that day so we may serve you. Of course, we understand that emergencies do come up, and in some instances we may choose to waive that fee however we find that having this policy in place detracts from last minute cancellations.
